Videoconference systems come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. There are desktop systems built into LCD monitors, these are perfect for the chief executive.
Room based systems are the most popular and are designed for meeting rooms seating from four to fifteen people.
Software based systems even allow you to join a video meeting from a hotel room using your laptop and a web camera.
There are several superb high definition desktop video conference units which double as a PC monitor to minimise clutter. The camera, loudspeaker and microphone systems are built in.
These systems meet all current video conference standards so you can meet with people irrespective of the brand of their equipment.

Most room based systems can work either using ISDN connections or IP network connections. Whatever bandwidth and quality of connection you have available you can rely on them to give you the best results possible.
The most basic systems give just a point to point connection with picture and sound displayed on one screen. Most systems now are capable of 720p or 1080p high definition images at 25 frames per second. If budgets are tight there are some standard definition systems still available.
