Institute of Water Officers

The Institute of Water Officers is the professional body concerned with the water industry. Each year they host a Welsh awards ceremony for water service providers. For the last three years Drake AV Video Ltd has provided audio visual support for this increasingly prestigious ceremony.
For 2009’s awards we supplied a large single screen and back-drop suitable for the occasion, with raised staging, a designer lectern and an awards plinth. The lighting effects provided the glamour; the set was lit in various blue hues highlighting the event branding. To light the set evenly we used LED up-lighters. Profile lanterns projected two graphics onto the backdrop and the dining tables were lit with dappled blue and pink hues.

When the winners were announced, they were accompanied to the stage with music stings arranged and produced by Drake AV Video Ltd (sound-bites) and moving light effects.
The overall effect was a polished awards ceremony, which was achieved by close communication and careful planning with the client. A walk-through rehearsal beforehand ensured that everyone, including organisers and technicians, understood their production roles.
